Summer is truly coming to and end an my favorite time of year is approaching. September is always an interesting month here in Indiana. The weather seems to be indecisvie between Summer and Fall. Some days are warm and sunny others are chilly and cloudy. A few trees begin to change while the rest stubbornly hold onto their greenness. The beans and corn are beginning to dry. Also fall migration is at full force. It’s a fun time and I love it.
Watching the sun melt on a back country road with the sweet smell of corn and freshly turned soil.
Most don’t understand the satisfaction or the comfort I get when doing this. Nothing but freedom. You can keep your thoughts or go empty minded. There is too much to focus on when you have time and open roads.
I challenge you to try this one evening. Find some country roads, roll the windows down, get your favorite jams going and just drive.
A good portion of today was spent driving. I had nothing to do today and no really to see. So I drove. I drove down twisting country roads, kicking up dust, speeding past farms and blaring music. I thought about a lot of stuff, daydreamed, and cleared my head. Some days I hate driving. And other days I love it. Today was one of those days. I like to explore, I like having the road to myself, I like my music and I like my alone time.
