It snowed today! It isn’t the first day of snow, but today the snow actually stuck and stayed around. It snowed lightly, but consistently almost all day. It was very pretty to watch it and I honestly don’t mind the snow. I love snow. I just don’t care for how cold it is. Oh well, that’s winter here in Indiana. I think Peanut even liked the snow.
Because Hannah had to take it easy this weekend and her medicine made her tired we just relaxed at home. It was a lazy weekend but we got to see our cats, MJ is the one in the photo, and she baked some pretty great cookies. It’s never been hard for me to relax and be lazy but for some it can be. It was a good thing that she was forced to just relax and take things slow. Everyone needs that. Time to rest and take a break from things.
This is Peanut, Hannah’s British Short Hair cat. He’s a very cute cat, though he tends to stay away from people. Since I’ve been around him so much, he has started to tolerate me and now lets me pet him. I snapped this shot of him this morning, in one of his favorite spots, as he looked out the window.
Oh Ben…..he’s so handsome. Yet a pain in the ass. I love him so much as I adopted him almost a year after Jordan passed, on Jordan’s first birthday without us.
His name was Desoto at the Humane Society. I changed it to Ben for unknown reasons, though I have to clarify Ben is my cat and NOT a guy when telling stories. He had been there for a bit prior to me adopting him. I had NO clue what I was getting myself into. They say ‘all black’ cats have the most personality. Truth. He goes out with the dogs. He’s as smart as a human and knows it. When people come to my house I have to warn them about my cat, not the two dogs. All in all though he is great and I couldn’t imagine not having his punk-ness around.
This is Alex. We met working together. I managed and he was the sous chef. Three years later we have a great friendship. We’ve spent many nights cruising the country side, waffle house, nicknames, cat bites, laughter, hugs & a bond that time can only enhance.
I’m not sure how the name ‘boo bear’ came about but it stuck. So much so that other co workers began calling him by this.
Boo bear is the type of person who would do anything for anyone, people like that are hard to find these days. No matter what we always manage to have so much fun together!
Thank you for being such a great friend. A true friend. Thank you for always being there. Though….admit it, my way of doing asparagus on the grill is pretty amazing 😉 Love You Boo Bear!!
Shot on one of those amazing Waffle House nights.
This is Baby, or Felix. His real name is Felix, but Hannah and I don’t like the name so we just call him Baby. He’s sweet but he can be a little devil too. Hannah loves the little guy though. We decided to take him outside for a little bit to enjoy the nice weather. He sat there nicely in Hannah’s lap for maybe a minute and then started squirming and trying to escape. She calmed him down and then he proceeded to give her kisses on the nose. It was pretty cute.
KC and I road tripped it down to Exotic Feline Rescue here in southern IN. What an amazing trip. These amazing animals in captivity was kind of hard to see but after learning some of their stories I was somehow OK with it. For example two of the tigers were ‘pets’ to a man who was using them to lure children into his home. He was arrested and charged with ‘children crimes’ and now the beautiful cats get to be outdoors in safe environments and well cared for. I’d recommend taking the trip.
Shot during feeding time with such golden eyes.
