Today in photography class we had a lot of free time, so we went to the studio and Professor Foley let us do whatever we wanted. I suggested we do some transparency shots and we got some really fun results. It’s something I’ve done before, but it was fun to do it with a bunch of people. We also did some light painting which was really fun. It was a good class today and everyone had fun, and even Professor Foley was really enjoying it.
An optical and meteorological phenomenon that is caused by both reflection and refraction of light within water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. An optical illusion.
This photo was taken after a gnarly lighting storm had moved through the area. The skies cleared just as the sun was beginning to set, allowing me to get this beautiful shot.
I’m often up very late every night, usually till 2 a.m., sometimes 4 a.m. When I walked out of the dorm tonight, things were very quiet, despite being in the city. I like that about the night. It’s quiet. Well except for the Robins that were singing. It was odd. You’re used to hearing them sing in the morning but not this early or late, however you look at it. So I walked to my car, Robins singing, city and campus quiet, puddles in the street. Things were quiet, sky was clear, air fresh, head clear, body relaxed. Calm, cool. That’s what I like about the night.
Insanely clear night. Cold yet comfortable. So many stars lighting up the night sky.
Its crazy to think how bright, yet how far away stars actually are. Burning objects that have already burnt out by the time we see them. Something so hard to grasp hold of.
I love the peace and sense of comfort found in a night sky. The openness that it offers. The wonder that it holds. The beauty of its existence. The excitement you feel when seeing a shooting star. Thank you for being that star I wished upon. For lighting up my world.
I’ve driven by here many times, like everything that’s within a 20mile radius of my house, but this time, it was different. It was night, the sky was clear and I was happily feeling creative. I’ve always loved the clean, clear look b & w adds to a photo. I also love the old school look that the basketball goal adds.
Shot off a numbered country road in the late hours of a since forgotten day.
One of my favorites. An old school house. It has so much missing but holds more secrets than we will ever know. This place holds meaning to me from years past. Old art stains the inside once pristine walls, windows the mirrored reflections are now missing and the once solid brick foundation is falling. Much like life. Savor as much as you can with a photo. I wish I had taken more years before.
Shot on Cyntheanne under an audience of stars.
So often we get caught living in our own world. Daily life. Routine. Time gets away. We misplace time. Time that we will never find again. Tonight I was able to share my world with a good friend. She’s going … Continue reading
Fog delay: Yesterday’s post. Shot this at 3am on my way home from work (I’m a bartender) I’m sure many people interacted with last night are feeling a little foggy. I’ve always loved the fog. It gives a sense of … Continue reading
