Today was Christmas and it was a good day. I got to see my whole family which was great and as usual celebrated Christmas at my dad’s house and my mom’s house. This Christmas was the first to be celebrated at my mom’s new house, so that was nice. It was also my first Christmas with Hannah so that made it even more special. I love Christmas and even though there is craziness, rushing around, spending, stress, and lots of logistics, it is still my favorite time of the year. This Christmas was weird because it was special but it also came and went too fast and it was more stressful than usual. But it was still good.
Merry Christmas everyone!
P.S. Hannah dyed her hair purple for anyone who was wondering.
It has been kind of fun looking through my old photos as I begin to wrap up this project. I found this one tonight and I think this particular house has shown up before in these posts. But the house is a favorite and if you ask why, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I think it might be the location of it, as it’s on a favorite road of mine and the area is pretty. I have never been in this house and it holds a certain mystery to it. I don’t know if I’ll ever go inside it, but the place is pretty and it will always be a favorite.
I have continued to look through old photos and found another old favorite from last year. This was from another exploring trip downtown. Last year I would hop in my car to escape school and drive to the center of Indy. I got a lot of great shots and became much more comfortable with the city. It was a great time and a lot of fun. And it got some great shots for me.
Today I got to do a photo shoot with Brandy, Abbie, Hannah and Mom. Originally I had invited Brandy, and then we got Abbie and Mom to come along and Hannah came to shoot pictures too. It was a great day. I got to help Brandy with a shoot in the morning, then get some great shots with all of them, have lunch and I even got to see Hannah’s family. This was one of the shots I got, my favorite ladies. My best friends, my mom who has always been there for me no matter what, my sisters, and my amazing girlfriend.
Today was the Brickyard 400!! NASCAR racing in Indianapolis. Thanks to a very good friend I was able to attend this beautiful day. Matt Kenseth is my favorite driver, I’ve followed him since I’ve followed NASCAR. I met him a couple years back and I was so nervous I couldn’t remember how to use my camera, it was pretty awesome. Today he finished 4th. I also consumed a foot long corn dog that was absolutely amazing!!
(*side note: I’ve been a vegetarian for several years*)
I love breakfast food!! Its always been one of my favorites, which is good cause they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Lately though, when I wake I’m starving but after I’ve made food I’m no longer interested 😦 This morning after I cooked, I was able to choke down some eggs and hash browns. I hope this doesn’t continue on much longer. It saddens me not to crave some of my favorite things!
The beauty in life that’s been without damage.
The strength and growth.
Most of us, in some way, we are damaged. Be it as small as learning Santa isn’t real or as big as a traumatic loss of someone you love. We at some point have to realize these events make us stronger. We can drown in the sorrow or find strength in the pain. We grow. Nothing is easy. If it is, its more than likely not with it. The trouble you overcome in life is what makes your story different from others.
Stand tall. Chalk up your defeats. Own your losses. Smile. Always, and I mean always, take the time.
