Chandler Day 276: Free Pizza

DSC05584My other campus job that I started this week was working as a cashier at the new food court in Alumni Hall. We have Papa John’s and a burger place. Pizza and burgers. It’s not the best job, certainly not as nice as working in the Ecolab, but it pays, barely. Oh well, you gotta work. I do get one good perk though, and that is I can eat whatever I want there for free. Looks I’ll be eating a lot of pizza this semester.

Brandy Day226: That Moment When….

image

Its not very often I shoot and I’m not happy with anything I see or shoot. Tonight was one of those days. What I saw with my naked eye was not what I captured with my lens. The frustration and anxiety behind the is something hard for others to understand. Its like suffocating. I took a quick break and chatted with my brother Nick, trying to clear my ‘spider web’ like mind and shattering heart.
I hit a lonely back road. The sun was nearly melted into the horizon and dusk was approaching on my left. I got out of my truck, lights off, and set up my tri pod to shoot the sky. A road that’s driven maybe a handful of times a week. Rarely ever at night and of course a car turns down this road…..and drives in front of my lens. I thought to myself angrily, ‘Thanks for ruining my shot!!’
This photo was the outcome. I wouldn’t say ruined, rather just what I needed at that moment!

Brandy Day220: Dirt

image

I don’t mind it, gettin’ dirty, wearin’ boots & jeans. Walking through corn fields and down train tracks. Its such a liberating feeling. Finding old abandoned homes, buildings & barns. I once walked through a barn that had antique furniture covered and books dating back to 1800’s.
I really enjoy finding lost memories.

Brandy Day216: 4 Hours

image

One of those days that warrants a 4 hour country cruise with the windows down and no destination.
I’ve shot this particular place before but today the sun highlighted the fence just right, giving beautiful color to all that was enclosed.
I enjoy moments like these.

Chandler Day 181: Wild Flowers Are Prettiest

DSC03939I happened upon this lone silo today and stopped to get a shot. And then I noticed the all the beautiful daylilies growing along the side of the fence. There were so many you couldn’t even see the fence. I absolutely love these flowers. They grow and bloom all over country roads throughout Indiana. And they are always orange (which happens to be my favorite color.) They are pretty¬†enough to have their own picture but paired with a silo, I think it makes for a beautiful scene.

Brandy Day124: Innocent Happiness <3

image

Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions going from contentment to intense joy.
I had a shoot at Holcomb Garden on Butlers campus, never been before so grabbed some grub, a recently woken soul, cheez-its & hit the middle most grassy point and sat. Watching people come and go. Small chatter of birds. The freshly dampened grass from the early morning. The screaming laughter of children.
Watching this little one run and play topped off the early afternoon. She was full of happiness. So simple, so innocent.
