Alicia and I headed south to Nashville Indiana to get away, check out the fall colors & go horseback riding. We had no obligations until Monday afternoon. It was Saturday. When you get two best friends, a camera, untraveled roads and free time, well only good things can happen 🙂 Alicia (nicknamed T) has been every bit of a supportive best friend. I look forward to our adventures and time together. This weekend is sure to do our hearts some good!!! We never know what lies ahead, and looking back can cause you to miss the direction you should be headed.
I shot this on some no name road, between here and there while on a ‘bathroom’ stop. Indiana is beautiful this time of year!!! (Fall time, that is)
Because we are on break we have been playing a lot of board games lately. We’ve been playing with Hannah’s family and our friends and it has been a lot of fun. It has been so nice to not have anything to worry about. No work, homework, deadlines, essays or anything. It’s been great to relax and have fun.
Today I went out to use some of the great gift cards that I got as presents. Me and Hannah hit up Half Price and Barnes & Noble and we got some great books. So now these along with the few hundred other books that I have bought I will have plenty to read over the remainder of break and next year.
It seems like it has been a time for firsts recently. Today I went with Hannah to one of her friend’s wedding. It’s the first wedding the me and Hannah have gone to together. It was a really nice wedding and the couple looked extremely happy. We had a good time too and were able to get all dressed up(Hannah looked stunning). It was another good day.
P.S. Today was also Michelle’s birthday and I was unable to see her. So Happy Birthday and I hope you had a great day!
This is our attempt at a gingerbread house. Hannah, Hillary, Josh and I attempted to construct one and it was hilarious. We went through a lot of icing, one of the walls cracked, candy was everywhere, things fell apart and the roof was supported by toothpicks and pretzels. But it turned out alright and it was fun making it. The best part was that it was still standing the next morning.
Tonight I went with Hannah, Hillary and Josh to Christmas at the Zoo. I hadn’t ever been so it was really cool to go see. The lights were beautiful and it was impressive how many of them there were. The whole zoo was lit up and decorated. I had a lot of fun and I was with great people. It’s definitely something I’d do again.
For quite some time now it has been tradition to go to Dull’s Tree Farm in Mechanicsburg to get our Christmas tree. This year we went on Black Friday and to say it was packed is an understatement. I have never seen so many people there in all the years we have been going. The line to pay for the trees was insanely long. But it was still fun, we got a great treat and it was Hannah’s first time going to cut down a real Christmas tree.
Today me and Hannah got to go downtown and go shopping. We covered most of the mall and got some Christmas shopping done. We had a good time down there and got some dinner. We ended up back at Marian and went to the coffee house they were having. It was a good night and I had a lot of fun with her.
Every year at Marian the students decorate their hallways in the dorms for the kids that come trick or treating. They come from the neighborhoods around Marian and some of the professors bring their kids too. Hannah’s floor had a carnival theme and she and her roommate dressed up as a lion and a lion tamer. As usual my floor tried to make their’s as scary as possible, complete with Michael Myers, a rabid wolf, clowns and a pitch black hallway with strobe lights. Needless to say the kids liked Hannah’s floor much more than mine and they had a great time. It was fun watching the kids in their various costumes have a good time.
Today I went with Hannah and her family to visit Pumpkin Works in Paris, Illinois. The owners of the place have know Hannah’s mom for a long time so we wanted to visit their place. This place was pretty awesome. It has a ton of mazes, indoors and out. All of the indoor ones are super dark, filled with tight spaces, crawling and dead ends, which made for a lot of fun. We went on a few hayrides and got a lengthy lecture on the trees of Illinois. We found some nice pumpkins and had a great day. If you are in Illinois anytime soon, this place is worth checking out.
