Tonight I went with Hannah, Hillary and Josh to Christmas at the Zoo. I hadn’t ever been so it was really cool to go see. The lights were beautiful and it was impressive how many of them there were. The whole zoo was lit up and decorated. I had a lot of fun and I was with great people. It’s definitely something I’d do again.
Today was kind of a weird day. It was Thanksgiving and my dad’s birthday. It was also the first year that I have celebrated it with my girlfriend and her family, which was very nice. It was also the same year that mom did not cook a proper Thanksgiving dinner, because she had just moved. I actually was unable to have dinner with her. We had dessert instead. It was unusual and the traditions weren’t kept and things felt out of place. But things change and we must change with them.
Today I got to do a photo shoot with Brandy, Abbie, Hannah and Mom. Originally I had invited Brandy, and then we got Abbie and Mom to come along and Hannah came to shoot pictures too. It was a great day. I got to help Brandy with a shoot in the morning, then get some great shots with all of them, have lunch and I even got to see Hannah’s family. This was one of the shots I got, my favorite ladies. My best friends, my mom who has always been there for me no matter what, my sisters, and my amazing girlfriend.
What a day!!! Had possibly my two favorite shoots, in one day and I’m more than happily exhausted! Starting the day as awesome as I did, I knew it was going to be great!!
The saying ‘everything happens for a reason’ proved to be true this afternoon. A place that I had planned to do my senior photos at, had a closed & locked gate. I’m glad. It opened up several other beautiful shots that I would have missed had I not been challenged to take the ‘long way’.
I also got to spend a couple hours in the studio with Chandler, Hannah, Abigail & mom. It was a lot of fun watching Chandler & Hannah work together and do their thing.
More than thankful for the opportunities that I had today<3
Being with Hannah, I get to witness the long process of a woman getting ready. Everything from picking the outfit, to doing her nails, doing her makeup, her hair, shoes, and jewelry. Normally I just get bored waiting for her to get ready, because I take 15 minutes and she takes an hour and a half. But today I saw what would make a good photograph and got to thinking. Say what you will, but you have to give women some credit for the amount of effort and time they put into looking their best. Men will never work that hard at their appearance. While I think she looks incredibly beautiful even after she just rolled out of bed, I definitely appreciate how hard she works at getting ready.
I currently work in the lumber yard at a home improvement store. It’s not the best work and it can be hard sometimes, but it’s a job. I spend the majority of my work day out in this barn stacking and sliding lumber. Today was a long day at work and I couldn’t get out of there quick enough, but hey, at least I like the smell of lumber. And my night after work made up for it all. I got to have dinner with my brother and we had a great time talking about pretty much everything and then I got to see my lovely girlfriend.
Today was my birthday and it was a pretty great one. I got to spend the day with my wonderful girlfriend Hannah, who went to a lot of effort to make sure I had fun. She got me this awesome Polaroid and made cupcakes for me (which were amazingly good). We then got to visit the IMA, a camera store, a bookstore, Potbelly(amazing as usual), and Mass. Ave. It was a great day and a lot of fun. We saw some cool stuff and met some cool people.
I’ve been wanting this book for a while. It’s Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. I’ve been wanting this book for a while and I found a very pretty copy of it over the weekend when I went with Hannah to a book store. But I’m a little short on money and it was more than I wanted to pay for it. So I put it back and we kept looking. She bought a few books and then we went on with our day. Later that night as we were sitting by the fire, I noticed her holding this little red book. I asked what it was and she handed me the book, saying she had wanted to surprise me. It was Brave New World, the exact copy I had found earlier that day. Somehow she got it without me seeing it and was able to surprise me with it. It was such a small gift but it made me so happy. A simple gesture, but a very sweet one. And tonight, I opened it up and started to read it, a nice ending to a long day. And it’s nice because now I look at it and not only is it a pretty book, but it reminds me of her and it makes me smile.
Tonight was spent in the library. Hannah had a psychology paper on hoarding and OCD to write. Luckily I didn’t have any homework so I got to play around with my camera and help her with her homework. After a while the paper became stressful and she took a break. I ended up getting a few funny shots and this was the one she allowed me to put up. She got all the research done for the paper and though I like to think I helped, I honestly just played with my camera and was most likely a major distraction the whole time.
