Today wasn’t easy. Maybe its the weather, I feel like I’m lost in Seattle. However the sun has set so I cannot complain. Rain through the day makes for long ones & hyper dogs.
Driving for sunset accepting I may not see much of one, this reflection caught me. Flooding the hole in the middle of the road, deceiving those that pass through, painting that which surrounds it, catching true colors.
Oddly enough I stopped, got out of my truck and stood there, ‘reflecting’ on recent days, prior to taking this photo. The beauty captured reflected so much.
To describe today….there aren’t words….I could only hope what happened today will eventually be normal for me, always a natural high.
After shooting sunrise, I headed up to Cape Hatteras to grab some shots of the lighthouse. After I was finished, I wandered across the way to the beach. I noticed some people standing around a roped off area with signs announcing the sea turtle nest just beyond the rope. I chatted with the people there, to find out they were excavating that nest shortly! As they began to dig up the nest, they sat aside the eggs to count and track. 75 total, 15 unhatched & 1still hanging out in the nest, the rest, well hopefully they made it to sea. The remaining one was taken back to be checked out and released later. I stood and chatted with the rangers, finding out very helpful & useful information. I gave them my contact information, and was invited back this evening to watch them release 35 baby turtles (including the one from this morning) into the wild ocean.
What an amazing event. You almost felt proud to be part of something so awesome. Hoping the best for these babies in such an aggressive world.
This is me. This is what I want to do. <3!!
Indy has a beautiful canal that goes right through downtown. It can make for a beautiful walk along some of the sections and it certainly makes for good pictures. This particular spot goes through the IMA property and it stood out beautifully today.
Somethin’ bout an Indiana summer night after a storm. Absolutely beautiful!! Everything on the ground is so green and everything above is so blue. Fresh & vibrant. Naturally washed of the days dirt.
This photo was taken in the eastern sky as the sun set opposite of it.
I love this road. The secluded location of it is comforting. Its not a named road, rather a numbered road followed with a direction, east or west. It winds just as curvy as the creek its paved next to. An old private cemetery sits atop a hill with a single tree that watches the sun set on the back of the headstones.
Red & green. Stop & go. Bright stars in the dark sky. What a day.
Chatting with a friend who turns out is more like me than I’d ever thought. For this opportunity I am so grateful. Yes, these are the same tracks I was just kicked off of ;-).
A quiet night on the tracks as the heavy fog began to set in, leaving a slight chill in the air.
As a child I was often ‘required’ to help in the garden. Somehow I always got stuck in the green bean row. Weeding and picking the beans. It was unreal how many beans could grow in a number of rows. Then, snapping them, at each end. However, fresh green beans are so crisp and delicious!!!! Mom was kind enough to bring me a bag of pre snapped fresh green beans! <3!
