Today wasn’t easy. Maybe its the weather, I feel like I’m lost in Seattle. However the sun has set so I cannot complain. Rain through the day makes for long ones & hyper dogs.
Driving for sunset accepting I may not see much of one, this reflection caught me. Flooding the hole in the middle of the road, deceiving those that pass through, painting that which surrounds it, catching true colors.
Oddly enough I stopped, got out of my truck and stood there, ‘reflecting’ on recent days, prior to taking this photo. The beauty captured reflected so much.
Standing on this back road. Alive. Happy. Full of feeling and life. The light of the sun highlighting naturally.
Never knowing when your happiness will be ripped from your heart, you be sure and ‘live’.
Dont be afraid of happiness, it has to start somewhere and its an amazing feeling. One you must experience in order to feel hurt, pain. Enjoy the simple things in life, one day that may be all you have.
Infatuation is described as an intense but short-lived passion or admiration for someone. Love? Love on the other hand is limitless. Unfortunately we cannot control how or when either happen. In my heart, I believe you know love. You feel love. You believe in that person, you trust in every part of them, regardless of the degree to which you love them. You want the best for them. You hurt when they do. You laugh when they do. You become emotionally involved. Most of that emotion & feeling is missing within the fury and excitement of infatuation. Love is a beautifully heart breaking part of life. When you fall it’s an amazing feeling, when your heart is broken its a shitty moment. Remember that. Remember how you felt during your highest of highs. Never forget how you truly believed the world was ending the first time your heart broke.
Headed south today to Wilmington, to visit with KCs parents and their new puppy, Star.
Not a bad drive, 4.5 hours from Outer Banks. No interstates just back roads and a long phone conversation.
Surf City is about 15mins from KCs house. There is a beautiful park with boardwalks, fishing, park and people. I caught this beautiful sunset before arriving at a place that seems more like home every time I visit!
It’s funny how things work out. After waking to shoot what was a non existent sunrise, due to the rain that was moving in, I headed back home to spend time with Boston. Shortly after being back home I received a phone call from a local requesting me to assist him in a wedding that he was set to shoot in just a couple hours. What?!?! Things like this don’t happen….do they?! I looked into him and the venue and the wedding party and it was all legit.
It was a beautiful wedding, the sweetest couple and such a fun evening with the chance to meet some awesome people.
This photo was shot on the pier where the reception was held just after the sun had set. So many beautiful colors brought in from the rain earlier in the day. What a beautiful day <3!
To describe today….there aren’t words….I could only hope what happened today will eventually be normal for me, always a natural high.
After shooting sunrise, I headed up to Cape Hatteras to grab some shots of the lighthouse. After I was finished, I wandered across the way to the beach. I noticed some people standing around a roped off area with signs announcing the sea turtle nest just beyond the rope. I chatted with the people there, to find out they were excavating that nest shortly! As they began to dig up the nest, they sat aside the eggs to count and track. 75 total, 15 unhatched & 1still hanging out in the nest, the rest, well hopefully they made it to sea. The remaining one was taken back to be checked out and released later. I stood and chatted with the rangers, finding out very helpful & useful information. I gave them my contact information, and was invited back this evening to watch them release 35 baby turtles (including the one from this morning) into the wild ocean.
What an amazing event. You almost felt proud to be part of something so awesome. Hoping the best for these babies in such an aggressive world.
This is me. This is what I want to do. <3!!
Somethin’ bout an Indiana summer night after a storm. Absolutely beautiful!! Everything on the ground is so green and everything above is so blue. Fresh & vibrant. Naturally washed of the days dirt.
This photo was taken in the eastern sky as the sun set opposite of it.
I was headed back south from Ft Wayne after spending a great day with family & friends when the above happened. I pulled over on the side of I69 and shot this photo. People were flying by at over 70mph not thinking twice about what was taking place just to their right hand side. Often times I wonder, how do people not see what I see?!
I realize we don’t all see things the same way, what a boring world this would be. Stepping back and taking another look, perhaps from another point of view is how we are able to see so much of this world.
