Memories, you love to have them when they are good and would give anything to have amnesia when they are painful, however everyday you have the opportunity to make new ones.
Second to shooting photos, I love meeting new people. Hearing other peoples stories and just friendly chat is captivating for me, perhaps the reason I’ve enjoyed bartending so much for the past several years.
Shot this while shooting pool, making memories with new people where old memories reside with past friends.
Oh Ben…..he’s so handsome. Yet a pain in the ass. I love him so much as I adopted him almost a year after Jordan passed, on Jordan’s first birthday without us.
His name was Desoto at the Humane Society. I changed it to Ben for unknown reasons, though I have to clarify Ben is my cat and NOT a guy when telling stories. He had been there for a bit prior to me adopting him. I had NO clue what I was getting myself into. They say ‘all black’ cats have the most personality. Truth. He goes out with the dogs. He’s as smart as a human and knows it. When people come to my house I have to warn them about my cat, not the two dogs. All in all though he is great and I couldn’t imagine not having his punk-ness around.
Spring time in Indiana. Its rains often and some pretty gnarly storms. I don’t mind though, as long as I’ve nothing to do and I can lay in bed or on the couch and enjoy them. The loud distant thunder, the pouring rain, the smell of hot wet pavement, how green everything looks after a rain and just the overall freshness it restores to the earth.
A favorite childhood memory was when we went out and played in the puddles after a hot summer rain. Guess that love followed me into adulthood 🙂
Memories are easier to hold onto rather than material gifts.
Shot this where I generally see the sun set, just after a storm!
