Backed up to the pond. Midnight rolls around with a storm trailing behind it. Somehow that doesn’t matter. The back is open, windows down, the music on & I’m in heaven. I’ve never experienced something so peaceful.
The sweet smell of the country air. The silence of the night and the soothing splash of the water against the rocks. At that moment there was no other place I wanted to be.
Sunrise on Washington Park Beach was too epic not to share another photo.
I really love this lighthouse. The way the sun lights it up after a night under the stars. This lighthouse sees the Earth rotate. The sun rise. The sun set. The moon rise. The Earth shift.
This weekend brought light to some important events and decisions that needed to be made.
After a long evening of work , I drove home and saw this moon coming up. So I immediately grabbed my camera and walked to find a place on campus to shoot it. I walked over to some tables, hopped up on one and shot away. And I got this shot. I liked the silhouette of the pine tree against the light of the moon. It’s somewhat eerie. Night can be very fun to shoot. It’s always more challenging, but when it works out, it produces some really cool shots. And tonight the moon and this tree worked out nicely.
I love night time. Its like another world. Everything looks different. More mysterious. The moon lights your way while twinkling stars watch from a far.

Ever! Tonight reminded me of this. Not to mention all the crawlers, I wanted to call a good friend, grab some beers & poles and hit the closet pond.
I love seeing both the sun and moon! Its such a big world we live in and to see this its a reminder. Reminds me that life and this works is so much more than who we are as people. Anything is possible when you put forth the effort, fight and will.
Shot mid day with both the sun & moon on my side.
When I can run into the night. The dark. Under the moon lit sky. Stars shining. Clouds rushing, like its a race to the moon. So quiet you can hear a spider crawl through the brush. That’s happiness. I stand out there in the middle of it all with a smile. That’s happiness that cannot be taken away, changed, or lost.
After hustlin’ steaks & wings all night I found myself racing the clouds out on that back country road.
Shooting at night awakens something in me that makes me feel more alive. Maybe it’s that everything around is asleep. Quiet. You don’t have the hustle and bustle of daily life. Maybe it’s the subtle brightness that the moon is … Continue reading →
