Oliver thought I should wake up at 6am today. I thought Oliver was crazy and with his persistence I was up and putting shoes on at 630. I was out the door, driving in the warm morning air. The sky started to lighten and the fog that had set in hours before, began to lift from its short slumber. The country promised such soft contrast.
Thank you for your puppy persistence Oliver, sunrise was stunning.
This morning was hard. I didn’t want to wake up. I had to convince myself to listen to my alarm. I had to tell myself that yes, I do need to show up to work. I have to leave her and this warm bed for lumber and hard work. I wasn’t happy, but I did it. And I was greeted by a pretty sunrise and fog over the cornfields. It was a small little gift to try and make the day a little bit better.
Very little sleep, with a restless mind and heavy heart. I was up early for work, but early enough to catch the sunrise. Threw on a hoody, shoes & glasses and out I went. Sought out the nearest east facing field and watched. Wondering what today would hold. This is what I found.

Gonna be a long couple days but it’ll be a change being on days, able to see sunrise & sunset!

It’s such a common thing. Happens every day. But when you take the time to look at it, it’s pretty amazing.
In the hustle of everyday life; grabbing coffee on the go, headed to morning meetings, sitting in rush hour traffic, getting the kids off to school or the sitters, when was the last time you watched the sun rise? Really … Continue reading →
