If someone tells you no, it doesn’t mean you stop. Sometimes finding your own way, your own path, is what makes your life come alive.
I shot this while driving through Virginia headed to North Carolina. A beautiful drive with a lot of peace & open roads.
Oliver thought I should wake up at 6am today. I thought Oliver was crazy and with his persistence I was up and putting shoes on at 630. I was out the door, driving in the warm morning air. The sky started to lighten and the fog that had set in hours before, began to lift from its short slumber. The country promised such soft contrast.
Thank you for your puppy persistence Oliver, sunrise was stunning.
Windows down. Music on. Country breeze blowing through my hair. The smell of corn and wet soil. No one around, but those naturally intended.
This was shot on an old lot that held a home. At one time it was a home that housed a family, hopefully wrapped in love and memories. A place that no longer stands. All that’s left is the rubble of broken glass and bricks. An old swing tied in a tree. The sun melting deep in the back, surrounded in cornfields and stale life.
Watching the sun melt on a back country road with the sweet smell of corn and freshly turned soil.
Most don’t understand the satisfaction or the comfort I get when doing this. Nothing but freedom. You can keep your thoughts or go empty minded. There is too much to focus on when you have time and open roads.
I challenge you to try this one evening. Find some country roads, roll the windows down, get your favorite jams going and just drive.
As a child I was often ‘required’ to help in the garden. Somehow I always got stuck in the green bean row. Weeding and picking the beans. It was unreal how many beans could grow in a number of rows. Then, snapping them, at each end. However, fresh green beans are so crisp and delicious!!!! Mom was kind enough to bring me a bag of pre snapped fresh green beans! <3!
Once in awhile we just need that view, a vision that will take us from where we are to where we can think clearly. Where thoughts aren’t swirling and we can get a small clear glimpse.
Today this photo was that for me. A deep fresh breath.
Sunsets. Where wild horses & tortured souls run free.
Sun rays beam through the thick layer of clouds, such as ones smile on a cloudy day. The most simple of freedom lingering in the distant of long forgotten happiness.
