Brandy Day175: Peace From Passion

image

‘Where words fail, music speaks.’ Hans Christian Anderson.
I love live music. Acoustic is even better. When you have someone that can sing & play as amazingly as this man, no words are needed.
I first met Jason Squier at Michaels, the bar I used to manage. He and his band played every Friday night. It was such a great time. Everyone loved them, loved us, loved Fridays. One thing led to another and I was shooting photos of them and attending every show at other venues when possible. I couldn’t get enough of Jason’s voice and demeanor when he was on stage. So captivating, relaxing & passionate. I’ve never seen someone play the guitar as delicately as him. Watching someone do what they love is so meaningful. You get a sense of peace from their passion.
A great friendship has grown from the night I first met him. He sends me rough recordings of new music as he knows I’ll give him my honest opinion. Thank you for doing what you do and doing it so well. Keep playing. Keep singing.

Brandy Day155: What Lens Cap?!

image

Proof that I don’t use lens caps.
Turning my lens over to Canon was hard. Like leaving your child with strangers. Awaiting my new lens is like a 5 year old waiting for Christmas. I’ve been so anxious!! Hopefully within the next couple of days I’ll be feeling back to normal.

Brandy Day153: Straight. No Chaser

Shooting on borrowed time.
I couldn’t take it. I was feeling lousy. I needed a camera in my hands again.
Happy that the past two days had been rain filled so I felt I wasn’t missing out on too much. As the rain tapered off and the clouds broke, I noticed the orange glow in the sky. I wasn’t sure what I’d get when I headed out but it was worth the chance. As I drove I crossed over 69 and this is where I stopped. Where I shot until the sun set. It was beautiful. The sun melted into the horizon as the clouds ushered in another storm.  The onset of the looming storm didn’t matter and neither did the past couple of days, I got this shot and for that moment I was more than happy.

Brandy Day134: Y.O.L.O.

Driving down State Road 19 when I had to stop and turn around to grab this photo. No truer words have been shared.
Live everyday fully. Tomorrow is not yours. Cherish every moment as though it will never present itself again. I’m not saying ‘you only live once, do dumb things’, I am however saying live wisely.  Live peacefully.
