They say all good things must come to an end. Is it an end or beginning? This trip was so fulfilling that its hard to see it as ending.
I met some awesome people, had amazing opportunities and again learned more about me that I didn’t know.
When life, paths or moments are handed to you like this its hard to see an ending!! I see future, opportunities & life ahead!!
University North Carolina, Wilmington. What an absolutely beautiful campus!! I enjoyed walking around here today, meeting some of the staff and chatting around. Its so true what they say about The Carolinas, everyone is super friendly, helpful & truly keeps the ‘southern hospitality’ alive.
Hoping a new path opens soon, as the one I’m on has been under construction for awhile 😉
Headed south today to Wilmington, to visit with KCs parents and their new puppy, Star.
Not a bad drive, 4.5 hours from Outer Banks. No interstates just back roads and a long phone conversation.
Surf City is about 15mins from KCs house. There is a beautiful park with boardwalks, fishing, park and people. I caught this beautiful sunset before arriving at a place that seems more like home every time I visit!
It’s funny how things work out. After waking to shoot what was a non existent sunrise, due to the rain that was moving in, I headed back home to spend time with Boston. Shortly after being back home I received a phone call from a local requesting me to assist him in a wedding that he was set to shoot in just a couple hours. What?!?! Things like this don’t happen….do they?! I looked into him and the venue and the wedding party and it was all legit.
It was a beautiful wedding, the sweetest couple and such a fun evening with the chance to meet some awesome people.
This photo was shot on the pier where the reception was held just after the sun had set. So many beautiful colors brought in from the rain earlier in the day. What a beautiful day <3!
To describe today….there aren’t words….I could only hope what happened today will eventually be normal for me, always a natural high.
After shooting sunrise, I headed up to Cape Hatteras to grab some shots of the lighthouse. After I was finished, I wandered across the way to the beach. I noticed some people standing around a roped off area with signs announcing the sea turtle nest just beyond the rope. I chatted with the people there, to find out they were excavating that nest shortly! As they began to dig up the nest, they sat aside the eggs to count and track. 75 total, 15 unhatched & 1still hanging out in the nest, the rest, well hopefully they made it to sea. The remaining one was taken back to be checked out and released later. I stood and chatted with the rangers, finding out very helpful & useful information. I gave them my contact information, and was invited back this evening to watch them release 35 baby turtles (including the one from this morning) into the wild ocean.
What an amazing event. You almost felt proud to be part of something so awesome. Hoping the best for these babies in such an aggressive world.
This is me. This is what I want to do. <3!!
Not real sure how this came about or happened. Ashley & I got up and shot sunrise, checked some things out blah blah blah and the next thing you know Ashley, Boston & I were headed to Beach Road. It will be fun they said. You’ll see wild horses they said. What they didn’t say was take your tires down to 20psi. What they didn’t say was there is no rhyme or reason to driving down the beach. What they didn’t say was stay out of the fresh sand. (Right, I should have known that one) This photo was taken the first time we got stuck. (Thank you Ashley Olvey) After this we managed to get stuck again, as well as getting two others stuck. Heated up the transmission nicely & never saw a wild horse. Was it stressful?! Hell yes! However, the awesome people we met, Kevin from Maryland was a lifesaver & his father Rich said I wasn’t too dumb 😉
Hey Ashley, remember that one time we got stuck on beach road?!
If someone tells you no, it doesn’t mean you stop. Sometimes finding your own way, your own path, is what makes your life come alive.
I shot this while driving through Virginia headed to North Carolina. A beautiful drive with a lot of peace & open roads.
