Brandy Day263: I Do

image

It’s funny how things work out. After waking to shoot what was a non existent sunrise, due to the rain that was moving in, I headed back home to spend time with Boston. Shortly after being back home I received a phone call from a local requesting me to assist him in a wedding that he was set to shoot in just a couple hours. What?!?! Things like this don’t happen….do they?! I looked into him and the venue and the wedding party and it was all legit.
It was a beautiful wedding, the sweetest couple and such a fun evening with the chance to meet some awesome people.
This photo was shot on the pier where the reception was held just after the sun had set. So many beautiful colors brought in from the rain earlier in the day. What a beautiful day <3!

Not real sure how this came about or happened. Ashley & I got up and shot sunrise, checked some things out blah blah blah and the next thing you know Ashley, Boston & I were headed to Beach Road. It will be fun they said. You’ll see wild horses they said. What they didn’t say was take your tires down to 20psi. What they didn’t say was there is no rhyme or reason to driving down the beach. What they didn’t say was stay out of the fresh sand. (Right, I should have known that one) This photo was taken the first time we got stuck. (Thank you Ashley Olvey) After this we managed to get stuck again, as well as getting two others stuck. Heated up the transmission nicely & never saw a wild horse. Was it stressful?! Hell yes! However, the awesome people we met,  Kevin from Maryland was a lifesaver & his father Rich said I wasn’t too dumb 😉
Hey Ashley, remember that one time we got stuck on beach road?!

Brandy Day249: U Turn

The sign says it.  As of late I feel like I’ve hit a dead end.  Not in a bad way, not at all.  Dead ends simply mean it’s time to check out a new road.  I’ve been back and forth on the idea of returning to school to focus on a study that seems so obvious.  A study where I would get to tie my love of photography & animals into days of awesomeness.

You know it’s time to check out new places when you can no longer drive down a road, any road  and find something to shoot or something fun to occupy your time.  A change of scenery would be awesome for my camera and healing for my soul.  I’ll keep ya’ll posted, but you know, the pictures say it all!

Brandy Day166: So Close Yet So Far Away..

Needed some time away from ‘life’, so I took a drive. Headed north to a place I’d recently seen photos of, Michigan City, Indiana. I must admit, I’m slightly upset that I’m just now seeing this part of Indiana for … Continue reading

Brandy Day154: It’s Not Mine

I did not take this photo, however it was sent to me, taken for me.
I suppose I never realized how much my photography meant to me until I couldn’t shoot, nor how much my photos mean to others until things like this happen.
My friends & family send me photos they’ve taken either cause they know I’d be in love with the scene or because I’d be taking the same photo if I were standing right there beside them. I cannot express what it means to me to have made an impact on others lives with my photos and viewpoint.
Thank you for all the support and love from all those who surround me. It means the world to me.
We all view things differently, however if we were to take the time, we’d all see the beauty in life and that what surrounds us.

Chandler Day 142: Early Sunrise

DSC03499Today was the last day of vacation and the last day for me to catch the sunrise. I had missed it every other morning, so I had to get it this morning. I woke up early and headed down with Hannah, Hillary and Josh. Hillary and Josh wanted me to get photos of them together before we left so it worked out well. I got a beautiful sunrise and got to take photos of them. And then they asked for the stereotypical, holding hands on the beach, photo. So I snapped it quickly and moved on. And then I looked at it and found it had turned out to be a beautiful combination.

Chandler Day 141: Her Hand in Mine

DSC03454It was another great day of vacation. We got to see the beautiful Brookgreen Gardens and then we spent the rest of the day at Huntington Beach SP. Our vacation is almost over, but it has been a great time. I’ve had a lot of fun and it’s been great to relax and hang out with Hannah and her family. While we were at the beach, I took a walk with Hannah and we explored the beach. And as we walked back she told me she wanted a photo that was like the original photo I took of us holding hands. She said she wanted it to be our new tradition. We would take one like it wherever we went. And so we got this shot. Her beautiful hand, held in mine. The first of many more shots that will be from all around the world.
