This is the schoolhouse that where the previous photo was taken and where my camera died. It really is an awesome building, though it is kind of creepy. We were’t able to get into it but the grounds still made for some good photos. There were a couple other small buildings on the property and an old playground. Hopefully we will be able to get into the building one day and hopefully I won’t lose another camera to the place.
The sign says it. As of late I feel like I’ve hit a dead end. Not in a bad way, not at all. Dead ends simply mean it’s time to check out a new road. I’ve been back and forth on the idea of returning to school to focus on a study that seems so obvious. A study where I would get to tie my love of photography & animals into days of awesomeness.
You know it’s time to check out new places when you can no longer drive down a road, any road and find something to shoot or something fun to occupy your time. A change of scenery would be awesome for my camera and healing for my soul. I’ll keep ya’ll posted, but you know, the pictures say it all!
The brick in this photo is that of an old school that is still partially standing, off a road where I’ve driven the pavement thin. Standing tall in the golden sunlight, this beautiful single flower. Growing among falling bricks & crumbling memories. Perfect within imperfections.
Reminder that what was will never be. Its up to us to see the beauty.
Jesse, ‘Storm’, Jason & Ben. I love these boys! Most wouldn’t, but I consider myself lucky to call them mine. These boys have been friends for years through school, girlfriends, drunken nights, roommates & many Vegas trips. Ben and his wife are leaving for the UK for some time, allowing Ben to continue his schooling.
Having friends deeply rooted as these boys makes for a lifetime of memories, laughter, tears & good freakin’ times, however it makes goodbyes difficult.
We will be holdin’ it down here in The States upon your return & we wish you kids the best of luck!!
Between classes, I have a chance to run to library, grab coffee, some junk food and relax for a bit. This is my only time to relax during the day. So I have to make the best of it. I take my coffee and combos, go to my favorite couch, get on Tumblr and forget about life for an hour. It’s nice. It helps me get through the day. I think we all have certain things like this. Little things or breaks we take to recharge. This is mine.
Tonight was spent in the library. Hannah had a psychology paper on hoarding and OCD to write. Luckily I didn’t have any homework so I got to play around with my camera and help her with her homework. After a while the paper became stressful and she took a break. I ended up getting a few funny shots and this was the one she allowed me to put up. She got all the research done for the paper and though I like to think I helped, I honestly just played with my camera and was most likely a major distraction the whole time.
