The sign says it. As of late I feel like I’ve hit a dead end. Not in a bad way, not at all. Dead ends simply mean it’s time to check out a new road. I’ve been back and forth on the idea of returning to school to focus on a study that seems so obvious. A study where I would get to tie my love of photography & animals into days of awesomeness.
You know it’s time to check out new places when you can no longer drive down a road, any road and find something to shoot or something fun to occupy your time. A change of scenery would be awesome for my camera and healing for my soul. I’ll keep ya’ll posted, but you know, the pictures say it all!
Fortune doesn’t favor those who play it safe. It favors the brave. Risk everything.
‘Like the others say, I could know your pain, but I couldn’t get used to it.’ In the end all the pain will mirror happiness and you will understand why you walked the path you had to, to get to where you are. Don’t let fear determine your future.
Nick, my brother & best friend, to say he gets me would be an understatement. I’d be lost without this kid. He’s walked my path, by my side, sometimes dragging me along the way. Tonight we hit the road & headed south. Speed, music, windows down & country air. It’s what every polluted soul needs.
Thanks for being my best friend, my inspiration.
“Thank you for listening…”
Art is a diverse range of human activities and the products of those activities; visual arts, performing arts, decorative arts, applied arts, fine arts & creative arts. Art may be characterized in terms of expression, communication of emotion or other qualities. Express yourself. Do your thing. Photography is my thing. My art. I love seeing the world abstractly.
I didn’t catch the gentleman’s name as I didn’t want to interrupt his groove, but he was well into his ‘art’. I sat and watched his intensity for a bit after I captured this photo.
Thank you to all of you who share your art and express yourselves.
‘Where words fail, music speaks.’ Hans Christian Anderson.
I love live music. Acoustic is even better. When you have someone that can sing & play as amazingly as this man, no words are needed.
I first met Jason Squier at Michaels, the bar I used to manage. He and his band played every Friday night. It was such a great time. Everyone loved them, loved us, loved Fridays. One thing led to another and I was shooting photos of them and attending every show at other venues when possible. I couldn’t get enough of Jason’s voice and demeanor when he was on stage. So captivating, relaxing & passionate. I’ve never seen someone play the guitar as delicately as him. Watching someone do what they love is so meaningful. You get a sense of peace from their passion.
A great friendship has grown from the night I first met him. He sends me rough recordings of new music as he knows I’ll give him my honest opinion. Thank you for doing what you do and doing it so well. Keep playing. Keep singing.

Late night mini jam session with a friend, my bro & his lady. I love impromptu nights like this. Good fun. We even hit a beach ball around out front, each adult successfully holding onto an adult beverage 🙂
I’m lucky to have friends & family such as I do.
Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions going from contentment to intense joy.
I had a shoot at Holcomb Garden on Butlers campus, never been before so grabbed some grub, a recently woken soul, cheez-its & hit the middle most grassy point and sat. Watching people come and go. Small chatter of birds. The freshly dampened grass from the early morning. The screaming laughter of children.
Watching this little one run and play topped off the early afternoon. She was full of happiness. So simple, so innocent.
